Spring Dinner Party

Oliver's 4th Batman Birthday

Last weekend we hosted our first party in our new house, a Batman-themed 4th Birthday Party. We had some family and Ollie invited some of his new friends for a lovely afternoon celebration. As per usual, I went a little overboard, but tried my best to keep to a budget, so I did a lot of fun DIYs to decorate.

I saved boxes from the move, painted and made a mini Gotham City for the the tablescape. I hate all the junk that kids get in goody bags, so ours consisted of the candy they got from the piñata, a quality batman mask and I bought a few yards of felt to make capes for each little guest.

Found this adorable batman sweatshirt for the man of the hour on super sale at H&M.

Our local favorite, The Cakabakery, made the delicious cake.

the kiddos loved the props I downloaded here printed and photo booth backdrop I hand painted on a large piece of cardboard. If you’re not as ambitious as me, I found this super cute cityscape backdrop.

We also had a piñata and a pin the logo on batman game.

Vision Board Party Recap

This past weekend I hosted a few local friends and entrepreneurs over to create vision boards. It was a fun way to kick off the new year, with a fresh set of intentions mapped out visually. I asked each guest to bring a stack of magazines and I provided the poster board, glue sticks and scissors.

I also asked the guests to bring their favorite cheese which I served with a smorgasbord of crackers, baguettes and fixins, plus wine and sparkling beverages.

After some mingling and snacking, we combed through magazines and with little structure we created our vision for the year. Each individual had a unique strategy of content and layout. We chatted about goals and dreams for the year and at the end posed with our boards. It was a lovely night and the perfect way to transition from holiday break back to reality.

Moody Dinner Party Mood Board

Welcome October, time to usher in the start of the holiday season. I have an INSANE and exciting month coming up here. I am doing my first ever bridal show, the Beer Hop Bridal Show on October 28th, so I have some prep happening for that. The One Room Challenge starts on Wednesday, when I will show you the scary before I’m working with on my mom’s kitchen, and I’m helping my friend Miranda of Thoughtfully Thrifted style a fabulous dinner party. That’s where the mood board comes in. The party will be on November 3, if you would like an invite, find @thoughtfullythrifted on insta and shoot her a DM. We are two newbies to West Michigan trying to cultivate relationships. As I mentioned, I have the honor of styling said party, which is truly an honor, because Miranda is a woman with amazing taste, I am thrilled she is trusting me to make it look fabulous! The vibe for the dinner party will be moody and slightly rustic. Since “thrifting” is in the name, I intend to shop my local thrift stores for pretty pottery dish ware, brass candlesticks and wood elements to create a cohesive moody look.

Bachelor Finale Watch Party!

It may be March Madness season, but we’re also approaching my personal Super Bowl, The Bachelor finale.  At I Love Love Events we’re not shy to admit that The Bachelor is our guilty pleasure, and just like post football season, when Sundays seem a little empty, that’s how I feel about Mondays without Nick Viall.  The Bachelor ratings are at an all-time high and participation of Bachelor Fantasy Leagues growing, and with all this love for our favorite show, we thought it was time we threw the ultimate Bachelor finale viewing party.  You too can add some excitement to next Monday night with inspiration from our Bachelor Finale Viewing party.

Bachelor Finale Watch Party

This event is one part Galentine’s day celebration and one part Super Bowl Party with lots and lots of red roses of course.  To bring the vision to life we hit the flower market and bought up all the red and pink long-stem roses.  We created a garland of roses to set the backdrop and made the arrangements ourselves mixing in spray roses, and greenery to modernize the classic flower.  The best details weren’t in the flower arrangements though, they were in the hand-made buttons we created with our guest’s all-time favorite Bachelors (mine are Ben Higgins and Bob Guiney – old school).  And, the night wouldn't be complete without a little game.  We teamed up with our calligraphy pal, Lana’s Lettering and created Bachelor Finale Bingo game, to create, which you can download for free by signing up for our newsletter!

Since this celebration was also one part Super Bowl, we needed some good food and drinks.  We opted for a pretty cheese plate, popcorn and other easy snacks and a simple cake covered in rose petals.  Not only will your guests accept your rose, but they will also accept your rosè, so be sure to stock up.  We supplied both regular and sparkling as well as a rosy cocktail with vodka, sparkling water, honey, pomegranate juice and topped with a red rose.
