Hello February

Things are really heating up over here! We have so many little, exciting projects coming up this month! We are partnering with a few local businesses on fabulous installs, throwing a fourth birthday party for a special little someone (named Oliver) and prepping for a bridal show at the beautiful Venue3Two at the beginning of March, plus home projects and lots of fun client work!! Wow! I am exhausted just listing it all out! It’s going to be a fun month! Of course I’ll be brining you all along over on Instagram.

This mood board is for my bridal show area, because it’s way more than a booth, at Venue3Two. I get to create a tablescape, a backdrop and a lounge! I am pumped, but I have a lot of planning to do!!

Color of the Fall // Rust

Everywhere I look I see this color! Rust is a non-neutral, neutral and so perfect for fall. It pairs perfectly with saffron or tan and unexpectedly well with bush and blue. What’s your favorite color of the season?

Dream Home 2.0 // Color Palette

A few weeks ago I shared some of my favorite images to inspire my dream home. Now I'm breaking it down a step further and talking about color palette. An overall color palette for your home isn't something the lay person might thinking about when embarking on decorating their home, but it's a really important step that can help you out in the end. People generally gravitate toward a look, but honing in on a style and a color palette that is cohesive and compliments the space is integral to a home that flows and has continuity. Plus, and this is the major point of this post, when you stick to a style and color scheme that is cohesive, it's very easy to swap and move things around when you want to refresh a space. If your bedroom and living room are somewhat cohesive you may be able to pull a bedside table to use as a coffee table or move chairs from the reading nook into the family room. Being diligent about this step means that art can be swapped from room to room and accessories can be styled and restyled again and again. Below is the color palette I am using to inspire my home as well as some pieces that support the look.

Mood Board // Misty Marble Project

Most of the mood boards I share here, actually, most of the mood boards I make, in general, are for weddings and parties, this little beauty is for a project I have living in my head. It's been a while since I've really made something and this idea is big, I don't know where I'll it will live and there is a lot of experimenting to be done, but the nearly spring are has me inspired! Hope you have a wonderful and productive week.

Now that we are deep into fall, I'm ready to officially name my color of the season, rust. This spicy orange color is huge this season, from sweaters to bags to home goods. While I think blush is still holding steady, rust is the new non color color. Get the look with my picks below and keep scrolling for the weekend's best sales.
